What is an audio visualizer?
Last updated: August 24, 2026
An audio visualizer is video driven by a sound file — cuts, motion, or artwork reacting to the track. Cascade starts from your audio, not from a blank timeline: upload the beat, add visuals you already have, and export a vertical MP4. It is an audio-to-reel workflow for producers, not a spectrum plugin inside a DAW.
Audio in, reel out
Drop in the beat you mixed. Cascade uses that file to time the edit. Footage, stills, and cover art ride on top. If you show a video style, matching follows that reference while the audio stays yours.

How this differs from a plugin visualizer
- DAW or player visualizers are often live graphics (bars, blobs) for a stream or wallpaper.
- Cascade outputs a finished MP4 campaign you can post as a Reel, Short, or TikTok.
- You supply the picture. Cascade does not invent a fake artist or generate a new track.
File expectations
Use a clean bounce of the beat or song. Upload video or images for the picture (MP4, MOV, WebM, JPG, PNG, or WebP). Export is MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio.
FAQ
Upload the beat or track you want in the reel. Cascade analyzes it for beat-synced editing. Keep a clean export from your DAW — the same file you would send to a video editor.
A music visualizer is a video that moves with a track — waveform motion, cuts on the beat, or artwork that reacts to the audio. In Cascade, that’s either your own clips cut to the beat, or a Portraits look that reacts to your beat. Never a generated song.
Create a campaign, upload your beat, add footage or artwork, and optionally upload a reference video file (MP4 or MOV) as a video style. Cascade matches pacing and layout to that style using your assets, then you preview and export an MP4. No footage? Open Portraits, upload the beat, pick a look, and export.
Yes. You bring the beat, footage, and artwork. Cascade assembles those files into a reel. It does not generate your music or replace your art. You need the rights to everything you upload.
Yes. Finished campaigns export as MP4 (H.264 video with AAC audio), which is what TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts expect. Vertical 9:16 is the default for those placements.
Audio for the beat, video or images for footage and artwork (including MP4, MOV, WebM, JPG, PNG, and WebP on upload), and MP4 on export. Campaigns are vertical 9:16 for Reels, Shorts, and TikTok.
Turn a finished beat into a reel with your own footage.
