How do artists make a music visualizer without a video team?

Last updated: August 24, 2026

Most artists do not need a motion-design pipeline to ship a visualizer. In Cascade you upload the record, your artwork or footage, and an optional video style. Cascade builds a beat-synced reel you can export as MP4. It is built for producers and recording artists who already have the music — not for replacing a director on a full-length video.

Artists, musicians, and producers

The same workflow covers independent artists, beatmakers, and musicians who post short-form video. If you finish music and need a clip that looks like the record, Cascade is the content producer. If you need custom 3D, compositing, or a narrative music video, that is still a different job.

What you bring

  • A mix or beat you have the rights to post.
  • Cover art, studio footage, performance clips, or stills.
  • A video style you want to match (optional, but it is the strongest way to get the cut you mean).

What Cascade does not do for artists

  • It does not generate vocals, instrumentals, or artwork.
  • It does not publish to Spotify or create Spotify Canvas videos.
  • It does not post to Instagram for you. Export the MP4 and post it in the Instagram app.
  • You still upload TikTok and YouTube Shorts yourself after MP4 export.

FAQ

A music visualizer is a video that moves with a track — waveform motion, cuts on the beat, or artwork that reacts to the audio. In Cascade, that’s either your own clips cut to the beat, or a Portraits look that reacts to your beat. Never a generated song.

Create a campaign, upload your beat, add footage or artwork, and optionally upload a reference video file (MP4 or MOV) as a video style. Cascade matches pacing and layout to that style using your assets, then you preview and export an MP4. No footage? Open Portraits, upload the beat, pick a look, and export.

Yes. You bring the beat, footage, and artwork. Cascade assembles those files into a reel. It does not generate your music or replace your art. You need the rights to everything you upload.

Upload the beat or track you want in the reel. Cascade analyzes it for beat-synced editing. Keep a clean export from your DAW — the same file you would send to a video editor.

Export the MP4 and post it in Instagram. Cascade doesn’t post to Instagram for you.

No. Cascade does not create Spotify Canvases or upload to Spotify. You can still make a visualizer from a track you plan to release on Spotify, then export the MP4 for Reels, Shorts, or TikTok.
